FAQs

Can’t find what you’re looking for? Don’t worry. We’ve put together these Frequently Asked Questions to make sure you get the answer you’re after.

How often do I need to volunteer?

We'll ask you to commit to volunteering with us on a regular basis and we'll discuss this with you when you come to see us for an interview. We usually ask you to volunteer for at least a few hours every week.

To make this as easy as possible for you, we've created a range of volunteer roles that are available seven days a week, including early mornings and later in the evenings.

How long will I need to volunteer for?

We'll ask you to volunteer with us for at least six months. However, we understand that your circumstances may change. If you need to flex or adapt your volunteering to fit around your other commitments, you can discuss this with us at any time.

What will I be doing as a volunteer?

Each of our volunteer roles is different and has a specific set of tasks and responsibilities. This information will be provided in the role description for your volunteer role, which will be available on our website. However, all our roles will take place at one of our five London hospitals and will involve interacting with patients.

Can I volunteer at different times on different days?

Yes, you'll be able to book a volunteer shift on different days and at different times each week. If you prefer to have a fixed time for your shift, we can also arrange this for you.

I already have a DBS certificate. Do I need a new one?

Each of our volunteer roles has different requirements, so we'll need to complete an up-to-date DBS application for you. We'll do this with you before you start volunteering. You can find out more about the application process and any documents you might need to bring here.

Can you sponsor my visa?

No, unfortunately we're unable to support visa applications.
