We manage hundreds of unique funds, each set up to support a specific purpose at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. These funds are called Special Purpose Funds.
Special Purpose Funds contain money that has been donated to us by grateful patients and their loved ones who want to say thank you for the fantastic care they’ve received. These funds could be spent on a particular ward, department or service, or a specific area of research.
Special Purpose Funds should be used to support projects that are over and above what the NHS could ordinarily provide. They can be used to support projects that fit into at least one of the following categories:
- Patient welfare and amenities
- Staff welfare and amenities
- Clinical research
- Medical and non-medical equipment
You can read more about what Special Purpose Funds can be used for on page 13 of our SPF Governance Guidelines.
If you’d like to apply for funding from a Special Purpose Fund, please read our Funding Request Guidance.
If you’re a Fund Adviser looking to apply for funding over £10k, you can find our guidance here.
