Artist Nathan Wyburn is no stranger to using unusual materials in his artwork, having used coffee, marmite, lipstick and glitter previously to create his unique brand of portraiture. On this occasion, Wyburn has used the subjects themselves to create this striking portrait of a masked NHS worker. Wyburn put out a request on social media for photographs of NHS workers and created this image using over 200 of the photographs he received.
Nathan says, “Most of my close friends work in the NHS and are out on the frontline every day – I’m always in awe of them. This art is very emotional to me as it contains images of many of my best friends.
The art took only about four hours to complete but I hope its impact will last in people’s minds for many months and years ahead.”
