Four still-life monoprints by Charlotte Verity were selected to complement a newly refurbished space, designed by Ab Rogers and funded by Imperial Health Charity. The works are on display in the Early Pregnancy Unit at Hammersmith Hospital. Verity has gained a reputation for her acutely observed botanical works, delicate in colour and subtle in tone. The artist’s interest in the play of light on her subject is captured to beautiful effect in these works. She writes: “with a brush in my hand and time to look hard and long, quite ordinary things appear rich; or in other words, worth making a painting about”.
