Museum and Gallery hospital visits
We work in partnership with several wonderful museums and galleries whose educators visit our hospital wards to deliver museum object-handling workshops, exhibition talks and creative activities.
These sessions enable patients to hear what is happening in their local area, learn about various subject matters and experiment creatively. By creating connections between our patients and the museums and galleries, we hope it will encourage patients to visit the cultural institutions when they are discharged from hospital and living back in the community.
We currently work with the Saatchi Gallery Learning team who visit St Charles Dialysis Centre, a satellite dialysis unit managed by Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
We also work closely with Gallery Educators from The National Gallery who visit our paediatric ward at St Mary's Hospital.
Storytelling workshops
We are excited to start a new partnership with Discover Children’s Story Centre bringing storytelling into our paediatric wards at St Mary’s Hospital.
Storybuilders lead performative storytelling workshops tailored to young people's ages, access needs and interests.

Farm visits
Throughout the years we have worked with Vauxhall City Farm to host their adorable animals at our hospitals.
Patients, visitors and staff members were able to hold guinea pigs, rabbits and chickens as well as meeting the farm's resident alpaca Jerry!
These visits provide a comforting break for patients away from the hospital environment.
