Your life can change in a second. One day you may need St Mary's Major Trauma Team. Today the Major Trauma Team need you.
We've pledged our support to raise £1,000,000 for St Mary's Major Trauma Centre Appeal. So far we've raised over £700,000- we're doing really well but there is still a way to go!
A major trauma can happen to any one of us. It doesn't discriminate between whether we're young or old, male or female and where in London we live. It strikes when we least expect it to: on our way to work, crossing the road, doing DIY at home, just going about our daily lives.
We were there saving lives in the Paddington rail disaster in 1999 and when the bombs went off on 7 July 2005. Every day we do all we can to save the lives of people who have been hit by a car, fallen from a height or have been victims of violence.
St Mary's Major Trauma Centre (MTC) responds to over 2000 trauma calls every year and our reputation for saving lives means we're busier than ever. But the NHS does not have an endless amount of financial resources. It funds the essentials to make sure you are in the best possible hands when you need us most, but this appeal will help save more lives by treating patients faster, helping them recover quicker and providing them with the best possible rehabilitation.
This appeal is about funding vital new equipment, research and training that will make the difference between good and excellent care for some of the sickest people in London. Find out more about the major trauma centre here

Daniel was just 23 when his car ploughed into a tree and he sustained severe head injuries. On arrival at St Mary's MTC he had already slipped into a coma and was only given a slim chance of survival.
