Imperial College Healthcare Charity is looking to appoint three Volunteering Managers to join their new Volunteering Department.

We are looking for experienced, high-performing and creative volunteer managers who are passionate about providing high quality volunteering experiences for people.

Having just created a new Volunteering Strategy and secured funding to deliver it, this is an exciting time to join our team and help us create a world-leading hospital volunteering programme within a large, multi-site NHS Trust.

As part of our work to develop the strategy we identified the need for a dedicated volunteer management post at each our three main hospital sites, to manage all aspects of our volunteering programme. The Volunteering Manager role is a varied one where no two days will be the same. You will build and maintain relationships with hospital staff to create new volunteer roles and ensure current volunteers are well supported, you’ll be out and about in the local community and inside the hospital promoting opportunities to people, you’ll be holding events to select new volunteers as well as induction and training sessions to ensure volunteers are fully equipped for their roles.

Volunteering Managers will work closely with each other and the rest of the Volunteering Department to ensure consistency across our five hospitals. Each Volunteering Manager will also have the opportunity to lead a key element of our strategy and drive progress to ensure we meet our ambitious goals.

You will have experience in a volunteer management role (in a hospital environment is desirable but not essential) and be able to manage yours and others’ work with a project management approach. You’ll be a skilful relationship builder with the ability to relate to volunteers from all walks of life as well as busy hospital staff in clinical professions. You’ll be a creative self-starter who can negotiate a complex organisation with competing demands for your time and for volunteers.

Our generous employee benefits package includes 25 days annual leave (with an additional 3 days during our office Christmas closure) which increases by a day with each year of service, a 10% employer’s pension contribution, free gym membership and free staff arts club membership with access to a range of arts institutions across London. We also have a generous approach to learning and development to support you in your role.

The closing date for application is Sunday 30 April at 23:59.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to take part in a telephone interview and assessment centre.

Telephone interviews will take place between 8 - 12 May 2017.
The assessment centre will run on Wednesday 17 May 2017 and will last for half a day.

We will then invite a selection of candidates to attend a formal interview, which will also involve a presentation task on Monday 22 May 2017.

Imperial Health Charity is looking to appoint a Volunteering Co-ordinator to join their new Volunteering Department.

Volunteering at the hospitals within Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is changing and we are looking for high performing, talented volunteer managers to help bring our vision to life.

Having just created a new Volunteering Strategy and secured funding to deliver it, this is an exciting time to join our team and help us create a world-leading hospital volunteering programme within a large, multi-site NHS Trust.

As part of our work to develop the new strategy we want to appoint a full-time administrator to work closely with all members of the team. Day to day you will work closely with the Head of Volunteering to co-ordinate all of our administrative systems and processes to enable us to deliver a high quality service to our hospital colleagues and our volunteers. You’ll be looking for opportunities to streamline the way we do things and drive change through our team meetings and the way we work together. You will manage all of our initial enquiries, ensuring everyone receives a prompt and friendly response as well as handling the initial stages of our volunteer journey as we appoint people. As we introduce a new system for managing volunteer data you will take the lead in implementing it so you become our database guru.

But it’s not all systems and processes; you’ll also play a major part in the delivery of our key recognition events and co-ordinating our regular communications for volunteers during the year. This role will also provide the opportunity for you to manage some of your own projects for the team, including the annual volunteering survey, our Events Volunteer Scheme and the introduction of new volunteer uniforms.

You will be a highly organised administrator with experience in a fast-paced and collaborative team. You’ll have excellent technology abilities with experience using databases, online systems and Microsoft Office programs to a highly proficient standard. You’ll be able to work within project management principles with experience of co-ordinating teams, their meetings and keeping track of everyone’s progress.

Our generous employee benefits package includes 25 days annual leave (with an additional 3 days during our office Christmas closure) which increases by a day with each year of service, a 10% employers pension contribution, free gym membership and free staff arts club membership with access to a range of arts institutions across London.
